RM1 Fare For Putrajaya Buses Beginning Jan 1
Commuters who use the Nadiputra bus service in Putrajaya, which is now free for Malaysians, will have to pay RM1 beginning January 1.
Bus routes and frequencies will also be revised.
The launch corresponds with a management transition at Nadiputra, with Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd taking over operations from Pengangkutan Awam Putrajaya Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd.
Putrajaya Corporation (PPj), the local authority in charge of administration in Putrajaya, claimed in a Facebook post that there would be seven routes in all, six paid and one free. "Operational hours are between 6.30am and 8pm on weekdays, and between 7am and 8pm on weekends and public holidays. "Payment must be done using a Touch 'n Go card and a minimum balance of RM3.
Senior citizens, the disabled, and students can apply for a MyRapid concession card to receive a 50% reduction on fares, according to the post. More routes are expected to be added soon. On weekdays, the current bus fleet serves six routes, according to the Nadiputra website (excluding public holidays). The service is free for Malaysians and runs every hour to an hour and a half (foreigners pay RM1.50).
