New 2024 Porsche Cayenne Undergoes Final Testing Phase
-full.jpg)
A new and revised 2024 Porsche Cayenne is coming very soon, and the Stuttgart-based sportscar institution recently put the pre-production prototypes through its final testing phase as part of the model’s pre-launch teaser efforts.
Slated to debut in Spring, the final prototype is being put through rigorous testing all over the world to complete what Porsche describes as "one of the most extensive product upgrades in its history."
Given that the current third generation Cayenne model was first introduced all the way back in 2017, many would’ve expected Porsche to develop an all-new replacement. That’s not the case this time round as the famed sportscar marque opted to treat its third-gen flagship SUV with a heavy revision for 2024 instead and prolong its production span by a few more years.

In fact, the amount of time and effort invested for this facelift’s research and development is comparable to what would be needed for a next-generation vehicle. The new upgrades should include a semi-active chassis, HD-Matrix LED headlights, as well as a dual-chamber air suspension with rebound and compression control for the dampers.
On board, expect the 2024 Cayenne's interior to receive a new 12.3-inch touchscreen plus a curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster. These will harness the newest infotainment technology and features as what’s seen in the brand’s staple 992-gen 911 sportscar and all-electric Taycan sports saloon.

Customers will have the option to order a 10.9-inch display that’s integrated into the passenger-side dashboard for an additional fee. The final changes include larger start/stop buttons and a digital climate control interface.
Elsewhere, new colours and wheel designs will be included in this mid-cycle update, along with restyled bumpers, hoods, fenders, and lights.
Although the new preview skims over the technical details, an increase of at least 14 HP and 50 NM is expected in the base model's 3.0-litre V6 mill, promising at least 349 HP and 502 NM as a result.

For increased EV range, all plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models will see their battery packs enlarged from 17.9 to 25.9 kWh. The electrified Cayennes will also include an 11-kW onboard charger to speed up recharging whereas the E-Hybrid variants should reportedly have at least 463 HP and 650 NM on tap.
Porsche plans to market four hybrid Cayenne models, one of which will be sold in the Chinese market and feature a smaller 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo mill instead of the 3.0-litre V6 mentioned earlier.
That being said, we can also expect a brand-new Turbo S E-Hybrid variant that boasts extremely high outputs. Beyond this, other details remain under wraps still, but it seems we may not have long to wait before all is revealed about this new and heavily revised 2024 Porsche Cayenne this spring.
