This Carlex-Tuned Ford Ranger Raptor Is Very Rugged, And Very Orange

Even in 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel form as launched locally recently, it’s safe to say that the latest generation Ford Ranger Raptor already looked both tough and sporty. Nevertheless, some reckon there’s room for even more ruggedness, and tuners Carlex Design seems to think so too.
Perhaps that’s what drove Carlex Design to come up with this tuning package for the super-truck, which it has christened as the CRX T-Rex. This latest effort by said tuner sees it focused on exterior and interior modifications, meaning the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol mill remains untouched.

Called the CRX T-Rex, this upgrade pack is the brainchild of tuners Carlex Design, and it offers substantial visual upgrades to boost both ruggedness and sportiness.
Also unchanged is the base Ranger Raptor’s full-blown 4x4 driveline, its signature 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve shocks, multiple selectable drive modes, as well as the active valve exhaust, are all carried over from the standard base car.
Starting with the exterior, the CRX T-Rex pack treated with Line-X finish applied on the bumpers, bonnet scoop, skid plates, front grille, fenders, side steps, mirror caps, and rear bed. Besides accentuating ruggedness, this also protects said components from damage whilst off-roading.

Both the wheels and flartbed's StyleBar pictured, as well as the wheel arches, side steps, and front skid plate, were sourced from Pickup Design.
Next, the wheel arches get plastic extensions, whilst the side steps, front skid plate, and the StyleBar on the flatbed are sourced from Pickup Design. Orange accents and decals combination around the headlights and taillights, orange T-Rex emblems and black graphics, on the other hand, provide contrast over the truck’s white-painted bodywork.
As for the wheels, Carlex Design have swapped out the stock units for new five-spoke 18-inch stock from Pickup Design as well, all finished in black. Orange touches continue here too with the brake calipers. Lastly, Carlex also adds roof-mounted LEDs at the front and back that provides greater area illumination around the truck, a la an expedition vehicle.

The most striking modification lies in the cabin, which now sports orange-hued leather and alcantara upholstery and lining in the seats, dash, doors, and roofliner.
Perhaps the most striking visual change was done on board as the cabin. It’s now upholstered fully in orange-hued leather and alcantara on the dash, doors, seats, and roof liner. As a finishing touch, the tuner’s signature can be found on the dash and headrests, along with the T-Rex branding.
Though listed as a limited edition offering, Carlex Design didn’t specify how many T-Rex Packages it will offer. However, this pack’s princely €99,900 (approx. RM 503,738) price tag suggests it won’t be sold in high volumes, more so given the fact that it actually costs more than the Ranger Raptor’s purchase price.

Are you digging what Carlex Design has done to the Ranger Raptor via its CRX T-Rex package?
For perspective, the Ranger Raptor in full-cream V6 form retails for around €70,025 (approx. RM353,095) in Europe. Furthermore, the rivalling and dinosaur-themed VelociRaptor 500 pack offered by rivals Hennessey seems like a bargain now with its proposed RM114,366 and promises of added performance.
So, which tuner do you reckon did a better job at making the Ranger Raptor better? As always, share your thoughts in the comments below…
