PM Anwar Unveils 11 New Transport And Logistics Projects

image.png Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced 11 new transport and logistics projects aimed at developing a sustainable and resilient national infrastructure.
These projects according to Bernama  include the Pan Borneo Highway Sabah Phase 1B, the Penang Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project, and the Penang International Airport expansion. Other projects include the redevelopment of Subang's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, the upgrade of the East-West Highway from Gerik, Perak to Jeli, Kelantan, and the expansion of BRT and intra-city bus services in Johor Baru and the Klang Valley. In addition, the government intends to improve transportation infrastructure maintenance in order to extend the life of roads, rail assets, and air navigation equipment. Furthermore, the development of a new port on Carey Island is expected to strengthen Port Klang's position as a regional shipping hub.

The main goal of these projects is to improve the public transport network, giving citizens better access and connectivity, and ensuring more efficient, reliable, affordable, and safe public transport services, the Prime Minister said

Anwar announced these initiatives in Parliament during the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025). The government intends to build a sustainable and resilient national infrastructure to support the country's growth and improve citizens' quality of life.
