Next-Gen Porsche Panamera Gets New Taycan-Inspired Interior

The current-gen Porsche Panamera will be replaced by a next-gen model later this year...
The Porsche Panamera is due for a next-gen update later this year, replacing the current second-gen model that was launched way back in 2016. Ahead of its inaugural world debut, the German automaker decides to give us a glimpse into the future by unveiling the interior design for its upcoming four-door model.

The next-gen Panamera cabin features no less than three screens at the front
To no one’s surprises, the new Panamera will boast a screen-laden interior design which looks very similar to what we saw on its all-electric twin, the Porsche Taycan. For starters, there’s a sizable 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster hiding behind the new Panamera’s sporty steering wheel, with the latter housing several essential driving and media controls.
Said digital instrument cluster is joined by two more screens at front, with the main highlight being the 12.3-inch central infotainment display featuring Porsche’s new “Driver Experience” control interface. The Stuttgart-based marque claims this new control interface features a simpler and more intuitive menu that groups functions together, thus preventing users from getting lost in tons of menus and functions.
Completing the trio of screens at the front is the optional 10.9-inch secondary touch screen for the front passengers. Not only does this optional display support video streaming services like YouTube, it also allows the person riding shotgun to use social media on the move.

In order to make room for the new screen layout, the front air vents have been moved down to the top of the central console, which are now electronically adjustable. Meanwhile, the entire front dash panel also features ambient lighting, while the gear shifter has been moved to the bottom-left quadrant of the steering wheel – thus freeing more spaces for cubbies and cup holders at the centre console. Plus, redesigned rear seats with better shape will also be available for the executive variants of the new Panamera, wrapped in a slew of new and better seat material options for future customers to pick.

The next-gen Panamera will feature at least four PHEV variants
Apart from this newly-unveiled interior design, Porsche had also revealed that the next-gen Panamera will feature no less than four plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options, citing that PHEV versions of the current-gen Panamera account for a huge chunk of the model’s total sales volume. Similar to the recently-updated Cayenne, the next-gen Panamera PHEV will be juiced by a bigger 25.9-kWh battery pack, thus promising better EV max range and boosted EV driving performance.

The all-new, third-gen Porsche Panamera is poised to make its global debut later in Nov 24 this year, in spite of several rumours suggesting that the Stuttgart-based marque is ready to outright replace its ICE-powered saloon model with the all-electric Taycan. Regardless of how the new ICE-powered saloon sells alongside its EV twin, the automotive world would be glad to see ICE-powered Porsches are here to stay, at least for another decade or so…
