Latest-Gen MINI Countryman JCW With Peppy 296 HP Output

All-new MINI Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) bows, and it packs sporty styling matched with a sorted chassis and peppy powertrain to match.
Officially revealed online earlier today is the new and hotter John Cooper Works (JCW) version of the next generation MINI Countryman. Predictably, the BMW-owned British brand’s performance-focused variant of its compact crossover SUV has all the looks and matching hardware that promises a thrilling drive.

Apart from growing in size, the new Countryman JCW also see its 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo heart boosted to output 296 HP or 312 HP (North America) now plus 400 NM.
Much of the new Countryman JCW’s sporty chops stems from the hot powertrain it packs. The package consist of a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill rated at 296 HP, or 312 HP for North America-bound models. Torque is capped at 400 NM, altogether enabling 0-100 KM/H sprints despatched in just 5.4 secs.
The uprated powerplant features new and optimised pistons, con-rods, revised air-intake, uprated dual-drive turbo, as well as new engine mounts. The model will be sold exclusively with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup matched with wider-profiled (245 MM) tyres shod in either 19- or 20-inch wheels.

Besides a tuned suspension, other notable performance bits include a new valved exhaust system, and wider-profiled (245 MM) tyres shod in 19- or 20-inch wheels.
Similar to the previous-gen JCW, this successor model also benefits with its own uniquely tuned suspension set-up with stiffer springs and dampers. This, according to MINI, enhances cornering response and stability compared to other models in the line-up.

On board, the JCW-treated cabin features black-red aesthetic motif all around plus the addition of sports seats.
Notable too is the addition of a new valved exhaust system and engine sound generator primed in the cabin. Speaking of the latter space, it also gets treated with the usual JCW signature bits like black-red elements, sports seats, and a dash wrapped in two-tone textile produced from recycled polyester.
Accessible through the central touchscreen are the MINI Experience Modes, and this allow users to customise sounds and screen backgrounds, amongst many. Avid MINI fans will also be glad to see that a go-kart model has been added here too that heightens the driving experience and piped-in engine sound.

Setting this variant apart from the regular Countryman are the exterior's bright Chili Red accents, blacked-out grille, LED headlights with 'JCW Signature Mode', as well as new C-pillars and taillight frames.
As for the exterior, this hotter Countryman JCW is differs from the regular base Countryman thanks to the signature JCW treatment here too. Included are bright Chili Red exterior trims and accents, LED headlights with special ‘JCW Signature Mode’, blacked-out grille, new C-pillars, and new taillight frames.
Initial sales and deliveries of the hot new generation MINI Countryman JCW are set to kick off early next year, whilst North American production and deliveries are expected to kick off slightly later in March too.
