EV users heading east-ward to Kelantan from the Klang Valley can now use the shorter Gua Musang route thanks to DC Handal. The charging point operator has a new DCFC station, strategically located at the Gua Musang rest area, that’s now operational.
This facility’s activation is timely too - it’s now live ahead of the forthcoming Hari Raya holidays, which will witness a massive migration of city dwellers returning to their homes.

CariCarz.com understands that this charging station houses a single cabinet 47 kW Autel MaxiCharger DC Compact unit equipped with two CCS2 charging nozzles. When two EVs are plugged in, this dynamic DCFC can regulate output based on each vehicle's state of charge.
Furthermore, this DCFC is the first of its type in the region, with improved cable management comparable to that found in Kempower satellites. It suspends the cable higher up, making it easier for the user to manoeuvre the cables.
'
We, as frequent users of DCFC in the testing of various EVs, greatly appreciate these because it improves cable access and manoeuvrability, protects car paint from scratches, and makes the hefty DC nozzle feel lighter.
According to DC Handal, all other Autel units in the country will soon be equipped with this improved cable management tech and enhance user comfort.'
'
When tested, a BYD Atto 3 Standard Range averaging at 90 KM/H travelling from the Klang Valley was able to reach the Gua Musang rest area with around 20% SOC left. After a short charge to 80%, the journey to Kota Bahru, Kelantan was completed with about 30% SOC left.
Remember that the trick is to limit your speed to around 90 KM/H to conserve battery life. This is not required for vehicles with longer range capabilities, but please adhere to speed limits.'
DC Handal Autel DCFC Specs complete with ST License details. Fun Fact, did you know the license stickers are printed my the CPO themselves not provided by ST. '
Lastly, we can confirm too that the charging rate the new Gua Musang DCFC levies is set at RM1.30/kWh.
This DCFC also has an integrated payment terminal that accepts debit and credit cards, MyDebit, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and virtual payments using the JomCharge and chargEV apps. Integration with the recently launched Gentari Go app would follow in due course.
