Report: Jetour Set To Create New Luxury Hybrid Off-Roaders

Pre-event teaser image of Jetour's upcoming product launch conference on Jan 22. New hybrid-powered luxury SUV offerings are set debut during which.
Chery’s Jetour brand reportedly announced plans to launch a series of new luxury off-roaders soon. These new metal are set to be previewed through the brand’s upcoming “Jetour Zhongheng (Jietu Zhongheng)” product launch conference on Jan 22.
These new off-roaders, which will reportedly harness hybrid powertrains as well, are set to compete directly against rivals GWM and its TANK luxury off-road sub-brand. Overseas, they are poised to rival against the likes of Jeep and Land Rover too.
Adding to this is the fact that Chery has reportedly registered and trademarked three new model names with China’s State Intellectual Property Office – Jetour G900, Jetour G700, and Jetour F700. This more or less aligns with the initial plans laid out for Jetour by parent Chery.

Jetour was established by Chery in 2018 with a specialisation in SUVs. The latest plans reportedly indicate that three new hybrid luxury models are set to be created under this marque.
As a refresher, Jetour was established by Chery in 2018 with a specialisation towards SUVs. Li Xueyong, deputy general manager of Chery Automobile, had also previously said that Jetour would launch 4 light-off roaders, 3 strong off-road models, and 1 or 2 luxury off-roaders.
Clearly, the new line-up signals the imminent launch and market entry of the luxury element of Jetour’s plans. Sources also tout that the goal here is to make the sub-brand at least on par versus both British (Land Rover) and American (Jeep) benchmarking marques mentioned prior.
Chery has already provided assistances to Jetour by supplying it with off-road technologies. Additionally, Jetour is also set t benefit with tech and know-how trickling down from the Luxeed brand – Chery’s joint effort with electronics giant Huawei.

These trio of new metal set to be revealed on Jan 22 by Jetour will adopt hybrid powertrains too. (Note: Jetour Dashing's 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo pictured).
Through this new models series, Jetour is poised to produce a line of products that bear both advanced off-road tech and high levels of luxury, with the ultimate goal of building the world’s leading hybrid off-road brand, adds sources in China.
More details are set to be released from the brand’s Jan 22 press conference mentioned. During which, at least one of the models from the new trio planned is expected to be unveiled, followed by previews of at least another.

Pre-production Malaysia-spec Jetour Dashing shown earlier this month that's slated for launch within Q1.
Presently, the Jetour brand consists of small and medium-sized crossover SUVs that feature traditional combustion (ICE) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. Locally, the brand debuted at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) with two ICE-powered offerings – the Dashing and X70 Plus.
The Dashing was previewed once again earlier this month during a specially organised press briefing, and it is set for launch within the first quarter (Q1), along with an initial brand network of 10 3S and 4S centres. The X70 Plus is also set for launch this year following a name change.
At the same briefing, insiders amongst Jetour Malaysia’s management ranks also confirmed plans to market both fully- and partially-electrified offerings locally too. Besides the T2 model hinted by our source, perhaps we could see one of these new hybrid luxury off-roaders included in said plan too.
