This Is How The Proton eMas 3 EV Hatch *MIGHT* Look Like!

Theottle’s latest render shows us how Proton’s new small EV hatch, the Proton eMas 3, might look!
Renowned local render artist Chin Swee Hoe (cordially known as Theottle) is back with yet another piece, this time involving a stylish compact EV hatchback. Christened as the Proton eMas 3, this render gives us an indication of how a Proton EV hatchback might look, should the national automaker decide to make one.

Theottle's Proton eMas 3 render (left) & the actual Proton eMas 7 EV (right)
From the get-go, you’ll immediately notice that the eMas 3 is mainly based on the newly-launched Proton eMas 7, as indicated by its similar front face featuring the same sharp LED headlights and the enclosed front grille design as the national’s first EV model. Also directly taken from the eMas 7 are the five-spoke alloy wheels the eMas 3 comes dressed with, particularly from the top-spec Premium model.

The eMas 7 inspo continues to the rear, with the rendered EV hatch getting the same full-width LED taillight design with Proton lettering and eMas 3 badge placed under it. Other EV-specific design touches, like the flushed door handles and the charging port at the front-right fender of the car, are also present, just to give an idea of what the actual car may look like.

Judging by its size and design, it is very likely that Theottle had the Perodua eMo-II electric hatch concept in mind when designing the Proton eMas 3, with the former set to be positioned as an A-to-B-segment hatchback. Should Proton decide to make the eMas 3 into reality, we’d reckon it’ll put up a good fight against Perodua’s upcoming EV hatch, which is bound for debut by the end of 2025, with prices expectedly ranging from RM50,000 to RM90,000.

News of an EV hatch by Proton surfaced way before Theottle published his eMas 3 render, as the national automaker cryptically confirmed that the eMas 7 EV SUV will be followed by another smaller and more affordable model in the future. However, rumours have suggested that the second Proton eMas model might be based on Geely’s Geome Xingyuan, with said EV hatch previously shown to Proton eMas dealers during their trip to Geely’s HQ in Zhejiang, China, last year.
More importantly, the arrival of a second Proton eMas model might be happening sooner than we thought, with rumours suggesting that the new EV model is bound for Malaysia sometime later in 2025. With that being said, would you prefer Proton’s new EV hatch to look similar to the Geome Xingyuan or Theottle’s eMas 3 render?
