Chery Lends 50 Cars As Relief For Affected Putra Heights Residents
In response to the devastating Putra Heights gas explosion, Chery Corporate Malaysia (Chery) has stepped up by providing special yet crucial vehicle relief for residents affected by the incident.
As a refresher, a major gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Selangor earlier this week left 305 families displaced, with a total of 237 houses plus 365 vehicles damaged - the latter comprised 275 cars and 56 motorcycles.
In lieu of which, Chery launched a vehicle loan programme, offering 50 cars to support both relief teams and impacted families. These vehicles will help aid workers in their efforts and provide temporary transportation to residents who rely on their cars for daily activities like commuting to work and school.
According to Chery, safety has always been a priority - not just on the road but within the communities it serves. The company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility shines through in this initiative, as it provides an immediate solution to transportation challenges faced by the victims of this disaster.
The fleet of 50 cars will be loaned to support affected families in regaining stability and accessing essential services such as medical appointments and daily commuting.
Chery is also working closely with the offices of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor State Exco for Investment, Trade and Mobility YB Ng Sze Han, and local authorities to coordinate the programme.
The vehicle loan initiative will run for a set period, and families in need can contact 016-412 2721 (JEN) or can fill-up the application HERE.
Notably, this partnership between Chery and the Selangor State government demonstrates the power of collaboration in times of crisis, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.
