Porsche Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Performance - SDAP) recently teamed up with the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM). Together, the automaker and the foundation kicked off a nationwide "Students Today. Drivers Tomorrow" campaign.

The campaign aims to teach schoolchildren the importance of road safety, reaching over 1,600 students between the ages of 7 and 17. According to Porsche Malaysia, road safety is a growing concern in Malaysia, where more than 530,000 accidents occur each year due to unsafe driving habits.

These accidents affect not just the individuals involved but entire communities hence by educating students about road safety from an early age, they can help shape a future where responsible driving is the norm.

"While motorsports is a core part of Porsche's identity, safety on the road is just as important. We are proud to partner with MAM to educate the drivers of tomorrow. Instilling safe driving habits early on is crucial," expressed Christopher Hunter, CEO of SDAP.

He also mentioned that students can share what they learn with their families, helping spread safer driving practices throughout communities.

Meanwhile, MAM President Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir echoed Hunter’s sentiment by noting that "teaching students about road safety early can instill lifelong habits that lead to safer roads for everyone. We are excited to see how this partnership will inspire a broader movement for safer driving."

This campaign will see Porsche Malaysia and MAM visit selected schools across the country to engage students in conversations about road safety. The roadshow will include talks from motorsports instructors, interactive quizzes, as well as driving simulations.
