Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that toll rates for 10 highways will not be increased in the near future.

Toll rates for 10 highways in Malaysia will not be increased, announced Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Announced during a special live broadcast earlier today, the prime minister said the government will defer the toll increase rates on 10 highways, allowing the public to continue paying existing rates.

The affected highways include the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB), and Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX), to name a few.

With this, PMX said that the government will be spending over RM500 million to defer the toll rate increase on these highways, which is scheduled to take effect later this year.

Besides the toll hike deferment, today’s special live broadcast also saw the Prime Minister making several other big announcements, including the rationalisation of the RON95 petrol subsidy by the end of Sept 2025, as well as one-off RM100 cash aid for all adult Malaysians via MyKad under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) initiative.

*UPDATE: The Public Works Ministry (KKR) just announced the full list of 10 highways exempted from the toll fares hike, including:

  1. Cheras-Kajang Expressway (GRANDSAGA)
  2. Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR)
  3. New North Klang Straits Bypass (NNKSB)
  4. Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE)
  5. East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2)
  6. South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE)
  7. Penang Second Bridge (JSAHMS)
  8. Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE)
  9. Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX)
  10. Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB)
