iCaur V27 Debuts in Dubai With 449 HP REEV Powertrain

Chery’s iCaur brand has made its global ambitions clear with the official unveiling of the all-new iCaur V27 SUV in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Choosing the UAE for the global reveal isn’t just symbolic. It highlights the brand’s growing focus on export markets, especially the Middle East, where there’s strong demand for bold, rugged, and tech-laden off-roaders.
Set to become the flagship of the iCaur range, the V27 has already earned the nickname “Chinese G-Class” in its home market. And it’s easy to see why. With a boxy, upright stance and design cues inspired by classics like the Land Rover Defender, the V27 looks every bit the part of a modern, go-anywhere SUV with an added electrified twist.

Under the skin, the V27 is built on a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) platform. It uses a 1.5-litre 4-cup turbo petrol powerplant as a generator to power its e-motors. While full specs haven’t been released yet, Chery says it’ll offer up to 200 KM of electric-only range (CLTC), with both rear-wheel (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions planned.
The all-wheel drive variant is expected to deliver up to 335 kW (449 HP) putting it squarely in performance SUV territory.

In terms of size, the V27 measures nearly five metres long, sitting in the same league as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender 110. Design-wise, it features distinctive rectangular LED headlights with rounded daytime running lights, large side mirrors, vertical LED taillights, a swing-out tailgate with an integrated storage box, and tough-looking underbody cladding.
The version previewed in Dubai also sports a flat roofline, chunky wheel arches, and a rear-mounted spare tyre, classic off-roader touches that will certainly help give it a strong, purposeful presence.

While the interior hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s expected to follow the rest of the iCaur range with a tech-rich and premium cabin. Given that iCaur is the result of a Chery-Xiaomi partnership, we can also expect L2 ADAS and smart connectivity baked in.

The iCaur V27 is scheduled to go on sale in China by the fourth quarter of 2025, priced between RMB200,000 and RMB250,000 (RM119,000 to RM149,000). But its Dubai debut makes one thing clear: this SUV isn’t just aimed at China. It’s built to turn heads and carve trails on a global stage.

Closer to home, the iCaur brand is set to make its official entry into Malaysia this quarter with the launch of the iCaur 03 EV. First previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the B-segment EV SUV will be offered in two variants, with prices expected to start from RM145,000.
Notably, Malaysia will be the first right-hand-drive market to receive the iCaur 03, marking a significant step in the brand’s regional rollout.
