AFA Prime’s recent announcement revealed that both the Gombak and Bentong Toll Plazas of the KL-Karak Highway now accept debit and credit cards toll payments.

This new payment scheme was made available of since Dec 30, 2024, and provides motorists a new, convenient and hassle free way to pay the toll fees at the Gombak and Bentong Toll Plazas.

This service is currently going through the public pilot test phase allow drivers to simply tap their debit or credit card at toll lanes marked with the MyDebit, Visa, and Mastercard logos. For debit cards, the toll charges will be deducted directly from the card balance, while credit card users will have the charges added to their billing statements.

According to highway concessionaire AFA Prime, this initiative represents a significant step in modernising and streamlining toll payment systems in Malaysia to provide convenience and reduce congestion.

This will also reduce dependency on Touch ‘n Go as part of the government's effort to break any form of monopoly and foster healthy competition to benefit users.

Latest amongst these will be the Ministry of Transport’s effort to open up vehicle inspection services to others instead of renewing the extension contract with Puspakom. According to MOT Minister, YB Loke yesterday, to date there are ten applicants who are interested in offering the vehicle inspection service alongside Puspakom.
