Omoda 7 Intelligent APA & RPA Parking Tech Sets C-SUV Benchmark

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia is clearly ramping up focus on the Omoda 7, following its preview as the Omoda C7 at MAS 2025. Positioned as a sporty, youth-focused C-segment contender, the model highlights the brand’s push toward intelligent mobility, though the official launch date in Malaysia remains unconfirmed.

The Omoda 7 has been introduced globally as a model that redefines smart parking. Its Automatic Parking Assistance (APA) is designed to handle the full range of everyday parking scenarios. Whether vertical, parallel, slanted, or unusually tight, the system can identify suitable parking spots, steer the car autonomously, and complete entry or exit manoeuvres.

Features like traced reversing allow the vehicle to memorise previously navigated narrow paths and replicate them safely, while custom parking selection gives drivers flexibility in choosing specific bays.
According to the brand, APA completes these tasks with fewer steering adjustments and faster cycle times than rivals, making it ideal for crowded shopping malls, office complexes, or tight residential streets.

On top of APA, the Remote Parking Assistance (RPA) function takes convenience further. In extremely tight spaces or obstacle-dense areas, drivers can step out and control the vehicle using the key remote, reducing the risk of scratches or collisions.
RPA is particularly useful in urban environments, such as parallel parking on narrow roads or manoeuvring into wall-side spaces that would normally require multiple attempts.

The Omoda 7 also brings a sporty, expressive design inspired by the C9 and C5, featuring sharp LED headlights, a honeycomb grille, coupe-like roofline, flush door handles, and a zig-zag rear LED lightbar.
It measures 4,621 mm long, 1,872 mm wide, and 1,673 mm tall, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, directly competing with the Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, and Mazda CX-5. Powertrain options are expected to include a 1.6-litre turbo variant and an SHS plug-in hybrid, offering up to 95 km of pure EV range and over 1,250 km of combined travel.

With momentum building around the Omoda 7’s intelligent technologies and MAS 2025 preview, attention now turns to which model will launch first in Malaysia. Beyond the 7, the recently previewed Omoda C9 PHEV and Jaecoo J5 in ICE and EV variants are also in the pipeline, making Q1 2026 a period of high anticipation for Malaysian buyers.
