PLUS TTA: Year-End Travel Traffic to Hit 2.2 Million Vehicles Daily

Traffic volume on PLUS highways is expected to reach up to 2.2 million vehicles per day during the year-end school holidays, Christmas and New Year 2026 celebrations, according to PLUS Malaysia Berhad.
The highway operator said peak traffic conditions are projected on Dec 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27, as well as on Jan 2, 2026, as motorists travel nationwide for the festive period.
In view of the anticipated congestion, PLUS advised the public to plan their journeys early and to make use of the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule to help ensure smoother traffic flow along the highway network.
PLUS said MyPLUS-TTA, which is accessible via the PLUS mobile application, is designed to help motorists plan their trips more efficiently by selecting more optimal travel times. With recent enhancements, the digital schedule is now available not only during festive seasons but also on selected peak days throughout the year.

During this period, motorists can use MyPLUS-TTA to plan travel on the PLUS Expressway and the East Coast Expressway Phase 2 (LPT2), with schedules covering journeys from Dec 19, 2025 to Jan 4, 2026.
To manage the increased traffic volume and ease congestion, PLUS will activate Smart Lanes at 30 high-traffic locations across its highway network throughout the holiday and festive season.
Motorists can also obtain real-time traffic updates through the PLUS app, the PUTRI virtual assistant, electronic message signboards at selected locations, as well as by following the @plustrafik and @lpt2trafik accounts on X. Additionally, traffic updates will also be broadcast on major national radio stations.
For emergencies or assistance, the public can contact the PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 or the LPT2Line at 1800-88-0220, both of which operate 24 hours a day.
PLUS also advised motorists to use navigation applications such as Waze or Google Maps alongside the PLUS app to better plan routes and manage travel time during the festive period.
