2026 Proton Saga Sales Surpasses 10,000 Units

Proton revealed via Facebook this week that it has successfully shifted 10,000 units of the all-new 2026 Proton Saga model since its late Nov 2025 launch.

As reported prior, national automaker Proton opened the New Year on a high after reeling in total sales of 157,976 units in 2025. Naturally, a large chunk of said figure was driven by the Proton Saga – the marque’s most affordable and best-selling nameplate.

Recently though, the Tanjong Malim-based national marque revealed via social media that sales of the all-new 2026 Proton Saga model – the nameplate’s new fourth-generation iteration – have surpassed 10,000 units since launch.

This is not surprising to say the least, more so given the fact that Proton garnered over 30,000 bookings in a just a week after the model’s official launch. We’ll also point out that the automaker delivered 7,957 units of the Saga in Dec 2025 alone.

As a refresher, the new 2026 Proton Saga – also referred to as the Proton Saga MC3 – officially debuted back in early Nov 2025 before it was officially launched towards the end of Nov 2025. The model boasts three variants available priced from RM38,990 onwards sans RM1,000 rebate.

All share a brand new 1.5-litre 4-cyl i-GT petrol mill paired with either a 4-speed automatic (Standard & Executive) or a brand-new Punch-sourced CVT automatic (Premium), all of which promising both enhanced performance frugality over its predecessor.

Moreover, both the Executive and Premium guises also boast advanced new digital displays, with its infotainment half bringing both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making the Saga the first in segment to offer which.

We’ll also add that the Saga’s enhanced chassis structure plus the full-array of basic and advanced safety features – the latter consisting of several basic ADAS functions too – have also allowed the Saga to earn a respectable 4-star ASEAN NCAP crash-test rating.

Certainly, the Saga look set to continue being P1’s key seller, and not just domestically. As reported prior, neighbouring Philippines will see the Saga marketed there in left-hand-drive (LHD) form this year, albeit wearing a Geely badge.

Expect the Saga to also play a pivotal role in terms of overseas exports for Proton too. Adding to which is the fact that its MC2 predecessor was a key offering for said effort, most notable in emerging markets like Egypt.
