MINI 5 Door

The 2025 MINI 5 Door is a five-door compact hatchback that concentrates MINI's go-kart character into a zero-emission package. Its Malaysian range covers distinct outputs and batteries, so buyers can prioritise price, range or performance without confusing it with the Aceman or Countryman Electric.

Inside, a minimalist textile dash centred on the 240 mm OLED display. Physical controls are deliberately reduced, but the key driving functions stay on the toggle bar.

The centre is organised around the start, gear, parking brake and Experience Mode toggles above open storage. The open layout frees useful storage underneath instead of using a bulky transmission tunnel.

Rather than a separate binnacle, the 240 mm circular OLED combines instruments, navigation and infotainment. Essential speed and assistance data remain in the driver's eyeline.

Occupants get supportive front sport seats and a three-place 60:40 split rear bench. The low driving position and generous adjustment suit the model's sporting brief.

Cabin practicality is five-door access and a 72 mm longer wheelbase improve rear practicality over the 3 Door, though it remains compact. This is clearly the intimate MINI EV, not a substitute for the larger Aceman or Countryman Electric.

The driver uses multifunction media, voice, cruise and driver-assistance controls. The compact rim and direct rack help the car feel alert around town.

Everyday items fit into door bins, glovebox, open console trays and folding rear backrests. There is no large traditional centre armrest bin, so organisation is best for smaller belongings.

Drink storage consists of two front cupholders plus rear door bottle storage. The arrangement is adequate for two front occupants but limited for rear passengers.

Device power is handled by USB-C ports and a wireless charging tray on equipped cars. Cable-free phone charging integrates neatly with the circular-display interface.

Cabin execution features distinctive woven textiles, tight assembly and tactile toggles lift the pared-back cabin. The woven dash surface is distinctive, though the sparse layout depends heavily on the central screen.

Luggage capacity is 275 litres, expanding to about 925 litres with the rear seats folded. The load lip is manageable, but this remains weekend-bag rather than family-holiday space.

The front is defined by circular LED lamps, an octagonal grille and compact overhangs. It looks cleaner than the outgoing hatch yet remains instantly recognisable as a MINI.

At the back, triangular LED lamps, upright hatch and slim roof spoiler keep the design crisp. The upright hatch maximises the limited footprint.

The MINI 5 Door uses LED headlamps with automatic high beam and selectable signatures. Automatic high beam is linked to the driver-assistance package.

Cooper S uses a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder producing 201 hp and 300 Nm. These figures keep the three MINI Electric versions clearly separated.

Drive reaches the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Immediate torque makes the car feel brisk in stop-start traffic.

The layout is front-wheel drive with electronic traction control. It preserves familiar MINI handling while avoiding the weight and complexity of all-wheel drive.

The 2025 MINI 5 Door adds meaningful access, a 275-litre boot and usable rear seating while preserving Cooper S pace. It is the sensible petrol hatch choice when a 3 Door is too restrictive but a Countryman is too large.
