Perodua Myvi

The Myvi is one of Perodua’s best selling cars. The 3rd generation of the Perodua Myvi has received a reboot for 2020. It now comes with fresh new colour and the range-topping variant has the latest Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 system.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT and the 1.5 H get a new paint job, Electric Blue, and the ASA 2.0 system as standard. At the same time, the colour and the ASA 2.0 system are available as an option for the 1.3 X.

The design is simple and more driver-focused with the center console angled slightly towards the driver. The steering wheel gets a leather finish and silver trims as detailing around the controls and across the dashboard. 

Made up of an Electroluminescent Analogue style design in blue and white colour that is simple and clear.

The seats are manually adjustable for the front and have a 60:40 split-folding function for the rear. It is finished in black leather fabric with red and white contrast stitching.

The interior cabin of the Myvi 1.5L AV AT is quite spacious. It has ample space in the front and also loads of legroom in the back.

It has a decent size glove compartment that can easily fit in a lunchbox and a 700ml bottle.

There are 3 cup holders, 1 positioned in the front and 2 in the back. As for the bottle holders it has 4, 2 located at the front door side panels and 2 at the rear door side panels.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT has 2 USB charging slots, one in the front and one located at the side of the driver’s seat. An Auxiliary cable port is also available which is located in the front.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT has a boot capacity of 277 liters and up to 800 litres with the rear seats folded down. It is 69 litres bigger than the previous generation. The flexible rear seating configurations are quite helpful in carrying extra luggage.

The measurements are 3,895 mm length, 1,735 mm width, 1,515 mm height, it weighs 1,015 kg with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT exudes a simple looking front look. The overall front has clean curves with a large air inlet positioned at the bottom of the bumper and it is paired with a minimalist style diffuser. It also gets front halogen fog lights.

The rear of the car also exhibits a simple and clean outlook. It has rear air inlets on both ends of the bumper. The top of the back gets a slim roof edge spoiler and a fin-like antenna positioned on the top back of the roof.

The front headlamps are LED units paired with LED reflectors, daytime running lights, and auto headlamp functions. The shape is slanted downward and pointed inwards giving it a more focused look. 

The tail lamps are LED units paired with LED reflectors. It is bulky looking, covering the side rear edge and curving all the way back into the hatch of the vehicle, however, the bulkiness compensates for the minimalist layout that the rear end possesses.

It is power adjusted and power folded, with turn-indicators.

Myvi 1.5L AV AT runs on 15 Inch alloy wheels with twin 5 spoke two-toned design.

The Perodua Myvi 1.5L AV AT comes with the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0. It features Pre-Collision Warning (PCW), Pre-Collision Braking (PCB), Front Departure Alert, and Pedal Misoperation Control. Its standard safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill start assist, and parking camera.

Passive safety includes six airbags, seat belt anchors, seat belt reminders and pre-tensioners. It also has ISOFIX, front and rear parking sensors.  

With the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 system, it promotes a much safer driving experience.

Features a 6.2-inch multimedia touchscreen unit that is user-friendly. There are the Smart link functions for Android, Bluetooth connectivity for all your devices, navigation system, and also able to display the reverse camera’s view. 

The 1.5 litre 4 Cylinder 16 valve DOHC with Dual VVT-I engine produces 102 hp at 6,000 rpm and 136 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT has a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Power is sent to its front wheels.

The Myvi 1.5L AV AT has a fuel consumption of 17.3 km/l compared to the previous generation of the Myvi 1.5 which is at 15.1 km/l. This makes the new generation of Myvi 15 percent more economical.

It has a built-in SmartTag toll reader, smart entry with push-to-start button, automatic headlamps with leveling adjuster, digital air conditioning controls with 2 memory settings, remote trunk opener, anti-snatch handbag hook, and a shopping hook.

The NVH aspects are way better and the seats are more comfortable as it is positioned slightly lower, compared to the previous generation. Handling wise, it has been improved. It feels more solid, more planted and stable. In whole the steering is more relaxed and feels more connected when you’re going fast and handles corners with more confidence and less body roll.

Fairly decent sound insulation as it is fitted with an acoustic windscreen. The Myvi 1.5L AV AT has improved in the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) aspects. On full throttle it recorded a maximum of 77 db and at a 110 kph cruise, it recorded a maximum of 71 db. 

In terms of looks, the minimalist overall design and a more focused front layout will grab the attention and would attract most drivers who are looking for something modern and practical for the long run.

The pricing of the Myvi 1.5L AV AT is RM 52,697. This is Myvi’s best selling model and with a price range of below RM 60,000 this vehicle is suitable for first car buyers and or even for buyers who are looking for a compact car to move around town.
