- PDAM: Gas Station Will Need Months to Fully Operate After Flood
It appears that the gas station company will need some time to resume operations after the recent flood rises.
The Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia (PDAM) has disclosed that a number of gas stations in the states that were severely impacted by the flood must go through certain procedures.
Several gas stations in the states that have been severely flooded must go through a few procedures for the closure of the buildings and their activities once the floodwaters have subsided.
According to PDAM President Datuk Khairul Annuar Abdul Aziz, he told Bernama the petrol dealers must ensure all discharge points at their petrol stations are safely sealed during the flood.
He added after a disastrous flood incident, petrol station operations will take months to recover fully as they have to repair and restore the stations.
The dealers also need to report to oil companies on their station closure as well as to brief them on the flood station. Aside from that, the team will keep dealers up to date on the current flood situation
On a different note, an oil company has provided a mobile refuelling service called ROVR as an alternative method of providing gasoline to flood victims. If access to the flood-affected area is possible, the ROVR will be dispatched.
Also, PDAM members are encouraged to download the MyPublicInfoBanjir app or follow the flood situation via the infoBanjir website.
