- Over 7,000 Jaecoo J7s Registered Last Year in Malaysia
Jaecoo Malaysia has registered a total of 7,041 J7 SUVs within the first five months of operations.
It has not even been a year since Jaecoo Malaysia officially set up shop here, and the Chinese automaker has already taken strides in the local automotive market. The automaker has managed to register a total of 7,041 units of the Jaecoo J7 SUVs within the first five months of operation, signifying the brand's decent breakthrough into the premium SUV market.
Part of Jaecoo Malaysia’s success is due to the extensive dealer network, warehouse, and production assets set up by the automaker, with the latter including a dedicated CKD plant in Shah Alam opened in mid-2024. Said facility is currently in charge of producing all Jaecoo models for the local market, including the Jaecoo J7 and Omoda C9.
In appreciation of the network’s accomplishment, Jaecoo Malaysia has recognised the top 12 performing dealerships at its first-ever dealership awards. The awardees comprised dealerships from the Klang Valley, northern, and southern regions, where all of them were evaluated based on their total sales.
Taking the grand prize home as Jaecoo Malaysia’s first-ever ‘Dealer of the Year’ award winner was Johor-based dealership Auto Galaksi Sdn Bhd. Also recognised at the inaugural dealership awards were Gagner Auto Sdn Bhd, ES Premium Holdings Sdn Bhd, Luxury Legend Sdn Bhd, Siang Hin (KL) Sdn Bhd, Apple Autotech Sdn Bhd, Kluster Automobile Sdn Bhd, Carshen Sdn Bhd, AAW Nexus Sdn Bhd, BH Premium Auto (M) Sdn Bhd, Indah Utara Enterprise Sdn Bhd, and Tropical Impact Auto Sdn Bhd.
Jaecoo Malaysia Vice President Emily Lek
Commenting on its stellar 2024 performance, Jaecoo Malaysia vice president Emily Lek said, “We appreciate our customers for their faith in the Jaecoo brand, and we will remain dedicated to delivering on our brand promise with best-in-class vehicles and a premium ownership experience.
“The awards recognise our dealer network, which plays a vital role in the brand’s overall achievement. We will continue to expand our dealer network, in line with our ambition to provide the absolute best customer experience,” Emily added.
The Jaecoo J7 PHEV is slated to make its official Malaysian market entry sometime later in Feb 2025.
Moving forward, Jaecoo Malaysia is looking forward to carrying the momentum of the J7’s success by introducing a slew of new affordable premium products, starting with the J7 PHEV later in Feb 2025. In conjunction with its Malaysian debut, the J7 PHEV will also embark on a special single-tank-and-charge journey across three ASEAN nations, namely Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Prior to that, we’ve already had the opportunity to drive the J7 PHEV in its native China, where we’ve covered a total distance of up to 1,300 KM from Guangzhou to Wuhu on a single full tank and charge, so don’t forget to check our first drive impressions of this PHEV SUV here…
