- BYD Seal Dynamic Now At RM148,800, M6 Standard At Just RM100K
BYD Malaysia rolled out massive discounts under its latest ‘Hari Raya’ promotion on two of its EV offerings - the BYD Seal Dynamic RWD and the BYD M6 Standard. This supposedly applies for limited quantities and time.
The Seal Dynamic now starts from just RM148,800, reflecting a generous RM15,000 reduction. Meanwhile, the M6 Standard is being offered at RM100,000, or RM9,800 less from its original price.
Beyond the headline discounts, buyers will also enjoy a three-year free service package, a complimentary wallbox charger, and additional promotional rebates that BYD has yet to fully disclose. This means the final price could dip even lower, making this a festive deal that’s hard to ignore.
The BYD Seal Dynamic RWD, though positioned as the entry-level variant of the lineup, retains the same head-turning design seen in its higher-end siblings. The differences are subtle—namely, 18-inch alloy wheels and just two exterior colour options: Cosmos Black and Aurora White.
Inside, the cabin remains premium, featuring a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system, a built-in PM2.5 filter, and a suite of modern tech.
Powering the Seal Dynamic is a 201 HP, 310 NM single e-motor capable of delivering 0-100 KM/H in just 7.1 secs. Its 61.44 kWh Blade LFP battery supports AC charging at 7 kW and DC fast charging at 110 kW. Range is rated up to 510 KM under the NEDC cycle.
The M6 Standard meanwhile offers a more practical seven-seater setup, making it an ideal family EV. Its front-mounted motor outputs 161 HP and 310 NM, achieving 0-100 KM/H in 10.1 secs. A smaller 55.4 kWh Blade battery powers the drive, supporting 7 kW AC and up to 89 kW DC fast charging. The M6 promises a 420 KM NEDC range.
Exterior-wise, the M6 wears a clean, modern design and comes in four colours—Crystal White, Ink Stone Blue, Cosmos Black, and Harbour Grey. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels and features full-LED lighting.
Inside, a 12.8-inch rotating central touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and even features a karaoke function. Other conveniences include NFC Digital Key, multiple charging ports, generous boot space, and a Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) system with built-in overload protection.
While these promotions make EV ownership more appealing, buyers should also be aware of the long-term considerations. EVs are not ideal for short-term flipping. Depreciation can outpace your loan balance, leaving you to cover a potentially large gap if you try to sell early in the name of upgrading.
It’s no surprise many buyers are opting for nine-year loans, ensuring the car is mostly paid off by the time it’s ready to move on—often with resale value based on the battery and motor’s health.
This in the long run could prove beneficial in the bigger picture. Malaysia is already dealing with an oversupply of vehicles and no clear end-of-life policy. A longer ownership mindset might help curb the endless churn of new vehicle sales and support a more sustainable future on the roads.
