- Zeekr 7X Earns 5-Star Euro NCAP Score
The Zeekr 7X EV has secured a full five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, confirming its credentials as one of the safest new EV SUVs in the market.
The compact SUV scored 91% for Adult Occupant Protection, 90% for Child Occupant Protection, 78% in Vulnerable Road Users, and 83% in Safety Assist.
In the Adult Occupant Protection category, the Zeekr 7X scored 36.8 out of 40 points. The passenger cell remained stable in the frontal offset crash test, with good protection recorded for the knees and femurs of both front occupants.
Zeekr also demonstrated consistent protection for different body sizes and seating positions. Structural performance was rated moderately benign in a frontal collision.
Side impact protection was a highlight, with the 7X earning the full 16.0 out of 16 points. In both the side barrier and side pole tests, protection for all critical body regions was rated as good.
Far-side impact control was adequate, with a centre airbag effectively preventing occupant contact. Whiplash protection tests returned a perfect 4.0 out of 4, and the car also includes multi-collision braking and submergence egress compliance.
For Child Occupant Protection, the Zeekr 7X scored 44.5 out of 49 points, including a full 24.0 out of 24 points in crash test performance using six and ten year old dummies. The SUV also achieved 12.0 out of 12 points in the Child Restraint System (CRS) installation checks. A child presence detection system is standard, and the front airbag can be disabled for rear-facing child seats.
In the Vulnerable Road Users category, the 7X achieved 49.5 out of 63 points. Head protection for pedestrians and cyclists was mostly good or adequate, though weaker zones were noted near the windshield pillars.
Zeekr 7X also scored 8.1 out of 9 points for AEB pedestrian, 8.0 out of 8 for AEB cyclist, and a perfect 6.0 out of 6 for motorcyclist detection. However, the cyclist dooring prevention system did not score, receiving 0.0 out of 1 point.
In Safety Assist, the Zeekr 7X recorded 15.0 out of 18 points. Lane support systems earned a full 3.0 out of 3 and AEB for car-to-car collisions scored 7.9 out of 9 points. The speed assistance system received 2.2 out of 3, while driver monitoring using direct eye-tracking scored 0.9 out of 2. Seatbelt reminders across all seating positions earned a full 1.0 point.
The Zeekr 7X was recently previewed to Malaysian consumers at the Malaysia Auto Show 2025 (MAS 2025), where registration of interest opened. It will be launched in three variants: RWD Standard (RM182,000), RWD Long Range (RM195,000), and AWD Performance (RM230,000).
With its high safety scores, advanced active tech, and competitive pricing, the Zeekr 7X is set to be a strong contender in Malaysia’s premium EV SUV segment going up against the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7 and XPeng G6.
