2025 Lexus IS Gain New F Sport Mode Black IV Special Edition In Japan

Lexus has updated its IS executive sport saloon range for 2025, and it gains a new F Sport Mode Black IV special edition in Japan.
Lexus announced a new special edition variant for its IS compact executive sport saloon model in Japan, and it comes as part of the updated 2025 model year (2025MY) revisions for said model. However, do note that the new special edition is only available in the Japanese market.
Called the F Sport Mode Black IV, marks its fourth iteration and it’s offered in IS300 or IS300h guises. This special edition treats this Lexus sport sedan with new BBS forged alloy wheels finished in black, black mirror caps, and a smoked finish for its exterior’s chrome bits.

Offered only in Japan and in both IS300 and IS300h guises, the F Sport Mode Black IV treatment brings forged BBS wheels, smoked chrome exterior, black mirror caps, as well as Ash wood and Ultrasuede added into the cabin.
Inside, the F Sport Mode Black IV brings Ash wood inserts on the door cards and steering wheel, dimpled leather wrapping the steering wheel and shifter knob, and Ultrasuede-covered seats. This special also bring updated opening graphics in its 8-inch digital instrument display.
Besides the F Sport Mode Black IV special, the Lexus IS continues to see the V8-engined IS500 variant available in its latest 2025MY guise. This variant also gains new black, white or red leather seat options on top of black side mirror caps and smoked finish exterior chrome trims.

The rest of the Lexus IS range sees minor changes, like new leather seat colours in the IS500, followed by a newly added power supply attachment in the IS300h.
Elsewhere, Lexus also added a new AC100V, 1500W external power supply attachment to the IS300h variant’s accessory outlet. In turn, this now enables this hybrid-powered sport saloon to power the car’s systems with the windows closed.
These aside, little else has changed with the Lexus IS range’s powertrain. The base IS300 continues to harness a 2.0-litre 4cyl powerplant, whilst the IS300h continues to employ the 2.5-litre hybrid mill as found in most other hybrid Lexus models. Lastly, the IS500 retains its signature 5.0-litre V8 mill.

The current-gen Lexus IS first debuted in 2013, and has undergone two face-lifts - one in 2017, and another in 2020. Altogether, the nameplate has shifted roughly 1.3 million units since 1999.
Perhaps it’s worth refreshing your memory that the current-gen Lexus IS debuted in 2013, and it was face-lifted twice – first in 2017, and again in 2020. Overall, the Lexus IS proves to be a successful nameplate for Toyota’s luxury arm as roughly 1.3 million units have been shifted since 1999.
The refreshed 2205MY Lexus IS range, including the new special edition detailed, sees its order books opened now in Japan. Naturally, the latter special commands a premium over the base IS300 and IS300h variants, which see prices start from ¥4,810,000 (approx. RM136,835).
