- MBM Set To Launch Refreshed Mercedes AMG G-Class, GLE, & More
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) looks set to enter the final quarter with a big bang through its upcoming ‘Luxury Like No Other’ event. Like the first edition of which held earlier this year, the firm is set to launch a myriad of new models as well.
Untypical of the firm though, it chose to list some of the new models set for launch here in a recent Facebook posting promoting the event. Notably, the bulk of the launches this time round will consists of Mercedes-AMG performance models, specifically the G-Class, GLE and SL.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 was refreshed earlier this year featuring an updated MHEV powertrain.
From what we can garner, we’re certain that the firm will be introducing the recently refreshed and now partially-electrified W465-gen G-Class in G63 AMG guise, followed by the face-lifted V/C167-gen GLE 63 S 4Matic (both standards and Coupe).
As a refresher, the G63 debuted earlier this year with an updated 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo heart that’s now paired with an ISG MHEV setup, the latter added for improved low-end response and enhanced fuel economy over its pure-combustion (ICE) pre-facelift predecessor.

MBM is also set to offer the refreshed GLE in AMG 63 S guise for the first time locally.
Moving on to the GLE 63 S duo, these are set to follow up from the face-lifted GLE 450 4Matic CKD and GLE 53 4Matic Coupe the firm launched prior. This will mark the first time that the GLE is offered locally in top-line AMG 63 S 4Matic+ guise as well.
Typically, the AMG 63 S guise will see both GLE and GLE Coupe variants pack a hand-built 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo powertrain offering 612 PS and 850 NM outputs. Coupled with a BSG MHEV system with a 22 PS and 250 NM boost, 0-100 KM/H dashes in either takes just 3.9 secs.

A new variant of the Mercedes-AMG SL flagship roadster was named in the teaser.
Besides the trio of performance SUV models mentioned, MBM also hinted at a new variant of the Mercedes-AMG SL Roadster set for launch during this event too. Having launched the 4-cyl SL 43 variant prior, we’re certain the firm is set to follow that up with the V8-engined SL 63 4Matic+.
This variant of the three-point star’s flagship open-top roadster will also pack a signature 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo heart as well, outputting 585 PS and 800 NM to enable 0-100 KM/H dashes in just 3.6 secs plus a V-max of 315 KM/H.

We are likely expected to see MBM introduce the V8-engined SL 63 4Matic+ during this event too.
Apart from these, MBM didn’t name any other models set for launch at this upcoming event mentioned, but expect to see more models revealed here besides what we just reported. We’ll have more details once they’re made available.
In the meantime, which of these four new racy metal from the three-point star are you most excited to see launched locally? And what other models would you expect to see debut during the same event too? Share your take in the comments below…
