LRT3: Intermittent Road Closure On PLUS & SPRINT from July 2 to Sept 30
A series of intermittent lane closures and traffic diversions will take place on both PLUS and SPRINT highways from July 2 to Sept 30 to make way for Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) construction works. These road closures would take place between 11pm and 5am during this period.
According to the advisory issued by Setia Utama LRT 3 Sdn Bhd, the main contractor for the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project, the affected areas will include:
Closure 1:
- The slip road from Lebuh Bandar Utama (BU11-bound) to PLUS highway (Damansara-bound) near Soon Meng Auto.
- The left lane of the PLUS Highway (Damansara-bound) opposite Ming Tien.
- The right lane of the PLUS Highway (Damansara-bound) opposite Nissan Nikaijaya.
Motorists from the Damansara-bound PLUS highway heading towards the SPRINT highway (Damansara-bound) and the Kayu Ara interchange, as well as those from the Klang-bound SPRINT highway heading towards the Damansara-bound PLUS highway, will be diverted via contra flow. Motorists from Lebuh Bandar Utama heading towards the Damansara-bound SPRINT highway will be redirected to Jalan Mawar, Jalan Melati, and Jalan Masjid.
Closure 2:
- The right lane of the slip road from Lebuh Bandar Utama (BU11-bound) to PLUS highway (Damansara-bound) near Ming Tien.
- The left lane of the PLUS Highway (Damansara-bound) opposite Winho.
- Both lanes at Kayu Ara Interchange.
- Both lanes of the SPRINT Highway (Damansara-bound) opposite Petron.
Motorists from Lebuh Bandar Utama heading towards the Damansara-bound SPRINT highway will use a contra flow opposite Winho. Those from the Klang-bound SPRINT highway heading towards the Klang-bound PLUS highway will be diverted to the left lane opposite Petron. Motorists from the Damansara-bound PLUS highway heading towards the Damansara-bound SPRINT highway will also use a contra flow, while motorists heading towards Jalan Melur 1 from Lebuh Bandar Utama will use the left-most lane of the Damansara-bound PLUS highway.
Setia Utama LRT 3 Sdn Bhd assured the public that these measures will be implemented responsibly, with only one closure at a time, and all closures approved by the Malaysian Highway Authority.
