ECRL-56-Completion-Minister-Loke-full.jpg According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project, which spans four states (Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Selangor), is currently 70.13 percent complete. The government is optimistic that ECRL operations from Gombak to the East Coast, specifically Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan, will be able to start in early 2027 because the construction is proceeding without hiccups and in accordance with the planned timeline. The minister stated that construction in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang is well underway. In Selangor, it is in its early stages, with more than 30%. However, according to the schedule, ECRL operations will begin in January 2027, and the route from Kota Bharu to LRT Gombak will be completed by the end of 2026. 03-page-3-chung_2257706_20220325074846-(1)-full.jpg

“A year later, the track from Gombak to Port Klang will be completed. Indeed, the track connecting the port in Port Klang to the East Coast is quite important because it will reach our main port for cargo transportation,” he added.
He continued by saying that cargo transportation, along with the tracks and infrastructure, is a crucial part of the ECRL because it will benefit the East Coast's industrial sector greatly, particularly Pahang.
